To enhance faculty research capabilities and assist them in mastering the application directions and practical skills for National Science Council (NSC) research projects, the Research and Development Office of National Taipei University of Business (NTU) held a series of workshops entitled "From Inspiration to Project: A Complete Guide to NSC Research Proposals" from October to November 2025. The workshops consisted of four sessions, focusing on management, arts, and accounting (accounting and finance fields). Several NSC conveners and academic experts were invited to provide guidance, exploring research proposal writing and review practices from different academic perspectives. This helped faculty members master the essentials of project applications, enhancing their research capabilities and the competitiveness of their proposals.
The first session, "Management Special Session," was held on October 14th. NTU President Li-Chung Jen and Director of Research and Development Yu-Lin Chen delivered opening remarks, and Professor Hou-Ming Chen, Honorary Professor of the Department of International Business at National Taiwan University of Business and National Taipei University of Business Joint Chair Professor, served as the moderator. The speakers included Professor Chen Baolian (Convener of the Department of Management, National Science Council), Professor Wei Zhiping (Former Convener of the Department of Management, National Science Council), Professor Li Yongming (Department of Information Management, National Yang-Ming University), and Professor Jian Ruizhe (Department of International Business, National Taiwan University). The topics covered included an overview of research proposal applications, practical guidance on writing proposals, and sharing of research case studies. Group discussions and feedback sessions were also arranged. The speakers shared how to use the GPT tool to assist teachers in co-developing innovative thinking and aiding in the writing of research proposals. The participating teachers expressed that they benefited greatly and gained more concrete writing strategies.
The second session, "Accounting Studies," was held on November 7th. Dean of Research and Development Chen Yu-Lin delivered the opening remarks, followed by presentations from Professor Chi Wu-Chun (Co-Convener of Finance and Accounting at the National Science Council), Professor Li Chia-Ling (Review Committee Member of the National Science Council), and Professor Lin Hsiu-Wei (Former Convener of Accounting Studies at the National Science Council). The sessions provided a practical approach to analyzing project application strategies and key writing points. Participants were divided into three groups for a hands-on workshop, bringing their own project ideas and receiving concrete feedback and guidance from the speakers. The workshop was highly interactive and engaging, with attendees expressing that they gained valuable insights.
The Department of Research and Development stated that this series of events aims to assist faculty members in their journey from initial inspiration to project writing through multidisciplinary practical training, enabling them to accurately align with the National Science Council's review criteria and enhance the quality and competitiveness of their research proposals. The following two sessions will be held on November 18th, focusing on "Accounting Studies" (Finance) and "Arts Studies." The Research and Development Office emphasized that empowering research proposals is an important part of the school's ongoing efforts. Through a series of workshops, it hopes to help teachers develop more strategic approaches from conception to proposal, thereby further enhancing the visibility and impact of the school's overall research findings.
