The General Education Center of National Taipei University of Business has achieved another success in the field of teaching innovation! Professor Lin Yi-An, who has long been deeply involved in the application of digital teaching and Open Educational Resources (OER), recently attended the "2025 Taiwan Open Education Excellence Award Ceremony" at the 2025 Education Technology Exhibition. Director Wu Ying-Tian of the Department of Information and Technology Education, Ministry of Education, personally presented her with the award certificate. This year, Professor Lin won the "2025 Open Education Digital Teaching Resource Application Award (Individual Category, Excellence)" from the Taiwan Open Curriculum and Education Alliance for her "Multicultural Education" course at the National Summer Academy. This marks the third consecutive year that Professor Lin has received the Taiwan Open Education Excellence Award, following her awards in 2023 and 2024. This demonstrates that her instructional design is not only up-to-date but also accurately grasps the trend of technology-assisted learning, setting a model for all faculty and students.

The award-winning "Multicultural Education" course showcases a highly forward-looking ability to apply emerging technologies. Teacher Lin Yi-An combined multiple generative AI tools to transform open English textbooks into rich teaching materials, including presentations, quizzes, and voice-activated teaching assistants. What impressed the judges most was Teacher Lin's use of Google's NotebookLM AI note-taking tool, launched in 2023, to generate Mandarin audio summaries of English textbook content. These summaries were then presented in a conversational, easy-to-understand podcast format, allowing students to engage in "fragmented learning" anytime, anywhere. This successfully transformed complex academic content into an accessible and engaging knowledge feast, earning the course an award for excellent OER (Open Course Experience) application.

Looking back over the past three years, Professor Lin Yi-an has consistently adhered to a student-centered teaching philosophy. Her course designs closely align with student needs and technological trends. For example, the award-winning "Intercultural Communication and Virtual Reality" course in 2023 utilized courses from the UK-based FutureLearn platform as teaching materials, combined with industry-faculty collaboration, to guide students in learning virtual reality (VR) technology. The award-winning "English Writing" course in 2024 featured meticulously recorded instructional videos, incorporating appropriate animations and guided practice prompts, allowing students of varying English proficiency to benefit from the flexibility of asynchronous distance learning, enabling them to repeatedly watch and practice at their own pace.

Regarding the recognition received for three consecutive years, Professor Lin stated that teaching innovation is a continuous process of trial and error, especially crucial in general education courses where resonating with students from diverse backgrounds is paramount. She also expressed gratitude for the resources provided by the university's Higher Education Deep Cultivation Project and pledged to continue exploring new teaching models to enrich students' learning experiences. She hopes that through general education courses, she can cultivate outstanding talents from Taipei University of Business with interdisciplinary perspectives and humanistic qualities.
